Working for Dick!

Congratulations to my Better half Mel for getting work at Dick Smiths Powerhouse! Its great that you can earn back all that money we’ve spent there ;-)

For all those wanting discounts … get in line!

Wheelie good!

Mel’s Dad came to the rescue for me again this weekend. About a week ago I moved my PA from our shed to our inside storage cupboard. As I was breaking my back lifting, we worked out that it would be fairly easy to put wheels on the huge speakers so that I don’t have to carry them.

The Wheel … what an invention!

Long story short, I now barely have to bend to lug my gear around. Plus, with the addition to wheels on my annoyingly heavy guitar amp, I think we’ll have added another couple of years to my back!!

I guess if I can’t fit them into my car now, I can just tie a rope to them and they can race along behind the car! Thanks for the help Wayne!

John Mayer III

John Mayers New Album, ContinuumToday was the release date for John Mayer’s new album Continuum. I got out of bed reasonably early (10am) and wandered into my local CD store where it was selling for the great price $21.99. I put it straight into the Xbox when I got home then into my Powerbook for addition to iTunes (and eventually my ipod – if I remember to update it soon).

I have already heard the songs from the radio leak he DJ’ed in LA. But still, it was great to hear them without the “Star 98.7″ adds in the middle. Although I’ve heard the leak so much that it currently sounds like bits are missing from the songs. Oh, it’s also good to hear the songs intros and outros, wihout all the chatter over the top.

A John Mayer release is both good news and bad news for me. The good news is that I get to hear some more John Mayer tunes, cos often I’ve played the old ones to death. The bad news is that I am forced to say to myself “Damn! Why didn’t I think of that” and “Damn! Whay does he have to be so good at it! How are the rest of us supposed to keep up!!”. In other words, I feel like “Windows Vista” watching the latest developements in “OSX leopard”.

More than meets the eye

It looks like all the guys that are 27 years or older will have a movie not to miss next July. It has been said that this age bracket is the current main market for “Transformers” toys and there will be a “live action” transformers movie released next year. It is directed by Michael Bay (Armageddon, Bad boys) and is now starting to be promoted via it’s website.

I’ll have to dig through my old boxes to see if I still have all my old toys. Go Autobots!

Crikey!

I just learned on the rumor mill here at work about the death of Steve Irwin. Most are commenting that he went doing what he loved. RIP Crocodile Hunter!

“Steve Irwin has been killed in a freak accident in Cairns. It is understood he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his chest …” 4/9/2006

Ad sense?

I’ve decided to test out Google Ads on my weblog. You will be able to see them at the bottom of this post now. Hopefully they will have some relevance to things I have been talking about and may even make me a little bit of $$$ on the side ;) .

I have attempted to make them as non-intrusive as possible for now until I think of a more apropriate way to present them. For example: James’ blog has them but they don’t display when a user is logged in. Meanwhile feel free to click away!! Go on … you know you want to!
