I have been doing a lot of web design the last few weeks for various projects. My main goal is to get my PHP, MySQL and CSS Stylesheet skills up to standard.
One site was for “Generation 2″, the duo my Dad and I are putting together. It hasn’t got a proper domain yet but it can be found here.
Finally the band website for “BetterDays” (my Dads cover band) has been converted to a proper domain from the bad add-ridden redirect I set up initially. The address is now: betterdaysband.net
I have also got my first “professional” site up and running as part of a bartering deal with my local Guitar shop “Guitars and Things”. They have traded their skills and services for mine in web design. The result of my end of the bargain can be seen at guitarsandthings.com
Once again, if you notice any (non validation related) problems, please let me know!
Although most of it is a blur to Melissa and Me, we both remember having a great time at our Engagement Party last night. After a marathon effort getting set up, we made the hall look much classier than I ever thought possible. The combination of good friends and family, good food and good music turned out to be a wonderful time. Thankyou again to everyone who came along to celebrate with us.
One big highlight for me was performing with “The Chris Annable Trio“. Thanks again to Richard and Damian for helping me play the bridal waltz I composed, live for everyone.
I have spent the last few days switching my website’s hosting to my new service. James put me on to the deal provided by Dreamhost, and it was 10 times better than what I was using and cost less than half as much per month.
So please bear with the changes for a week or so. The addresses should all be the same but DNS might stuff around a little bit during the change.

My Life.
As you all no doubt know, I am looking forward to the new Superman movie coming to cinemas late June. But there is another important Superman release being talked about that I have been waiting for also.
The current DVD release of Superman 2 is a heavily scaled down version to what was originally filmed. Richard Donner (the original director who was fired from the project) had filmed many scenes that weren’t included in the WB release. There has been a “Restored International Cut” floating around on the web that I couldn’t get my hands on but the word is, they are going to relase a “Superman Ultimate Collector
This weekend Mel and I ventured up to Mirboo North. A location in Gippsland so remote, even “Ken” the TomTom GPS voice had no idea where we were. It was the 21st Birthday of Mel’s cousin Bonnie and a good chance to stay at her father (Mel’s uncle) Gary’s place – a dairy farm!
After our usual getting lost on the way (we’ve started to expect this will happen) we made it to the farm just before dark. My little Corolla did a great job trecking accross all the country roads. Thankfully we were staying inside the house (and not camping again). We got set up and headed to the Hall for the party. I didn’t really know many people there, but it was great to hang out with Mel’s family for the weekend.
We got to bed around 11:30pm (must be getting old) and we were awoken by many a “Moo!” in the morning. I wasn’t game to get up at 6am to watch them being milked, but was fascinated to get a look at the facility – including newborn cows. One thing is for sure, I now know a lot more about Homogenisation and Pasteurisation.
Although it was great fun splashing around in the mud, we hope to head up again when the weather improves.
