YTruly Version 5 … I think?

As you can probably see, I have once again updated my blog. I am now using the new Wordpress version 2.0 with my own little theme adaptation. I’m still getting used to the admin area in the newer version, its has been literally overhauled with all new functions and enhanced controls.

Things are still pretty much under construction plus I have to get in and sort out what domain name will be for what – I can’t seem to decide. Hopefully all will be up and running 100% soon.

My hope is to get all the sites I have (in what I am now choosing to call the “YTruly.Network“) will have a similar structure. This is so I can easily keep things familiar and simple for easy navigation across all of my domains.

Enjoy!

WOW – it’s hot!

This weekend I stayed inside (out of the heat) and played my new MMORPG purchase World of Warcraft. This is a game I wasn’t sure I was going to like, but haven’t been able to stop playing. My main reason for trying it out was it’s option to install it on a Mac. It runs great and I really enjoy the gameplay but I still regard City of Heroes/Villains as the best there is.

Our place is hotter than an oven during the summer weather, and the temperature goes up another 10 degrees on our second floor. So to keep the temperature down as best we can, we close the house up completely and get our many, many fans blowing the hot air around. It will be a welcome relief to be back in airconditioned comfort, tomorrow at work. The students are back, the chaos will raise to an all new level – but at least it’ll be in a snug 21 degrees!

Colon, hyphen, open-bracket

My poor back has just given up. I put it out for the 3rd time this week at work today. The past 3 or so weeks I have been more of a labour worker than a technician/musician.

I have been lifting, unboxing then clearing the boxes of many, many, many, many computers all over work on the weekdays. Plus, the last couple of weekends, I’ve been helping dad move all his furniture in and out of his house so his floors can be polished. Not to mention lugging the odd drumkit around for my recent studio recordings and the re-organisation of my own place.

I think I might have to check in with a doctor to make sure I don’t render myself permanantly damaged. That’s not what bums me out though. With all this excercise, you’d think I’d be a lot thinner :-(

A new day …

Finally the new series of 24 has begun. Or as it has become known – the “Jack Bauer Power Hour”. Mel and I have been missing out on our weekly television induced axiety attacks. I have to say (as fake as it can be) I really enjoy this series. It does what it does extremely well and the producers seemed to have mastered the art of the cliff hanger. My original plan was to just “aquire” them all and watch everything in one go, but my curiosity got the better of me and so now I am back to my weekly wait.

At the moment this season seems to be on par with the last one. Although I have to say the first episode was a very powerful plot developement for anyone who has been following the show’s previous seasons.

More Gadgets

Once again Christmas and New Years Eve saw me working more than resting. It also had me spending more money than can be considered sane. Our gadget filled house is now even more tumor causing with the addition of a new printer, new Nintendo DS, new GPS unit, new Vacuum and at last (but definately not least) a new Wide Screen TV.

The printer and nintendo DS were Mel and my presents to each other for Christmas. They printer has already been heavily used, and the DS heavily played. The DS is strangley addictive with it’s hands on puzzles and games.

Before Christmas I got my Mum to run out of her work to pick up a Bluetooth GPS unit from a shop nearby for me. They were pretty much the only place in Victoria that had them in stock. So now when I drive, I have the technology to let me know how lost I am. The device linked up perfectly with my PPC phone and works brilliantly. I just need to get it all mounted nicely now.

Whist in our post-Christmas shopping, I decided to let Mel get a new vacuum as long as I could throw in a Wide Screen telly. Wanting the telly herself, Mel agreed. We can now watch our digital TV in full view over our spotless carpet. We just have to work out what to do with the old TV.

Anyways, it’s back to work to earn back all the money I spent over the Christmas break.
