Here’s mine

I don’t really understand this whole blogger code thing, but here’s mine anyway:

I hope that clears things up for everyone ;-)

Back into it

Today I started back into my old routine. Mel and I did our usual Saturday afternoon shop – which often sees me buying too much! I did, however, pick up the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. It will be good to see how they’ve fixed it up (Again!). You would think with all of that technology they’ve pumped it through, they could do something with Luke Skywalkers hairstyle. Oh well.

Then, whilst getting ready for my Gig, Mel’s Mum called around with another PC problem. She has recently purchased a copy of “The Sims 2″ and it refuses to run. (It keeps asking for the “Correct CD”). Once again I was completely ignored, but I tried to help her out as best I could anyway. I was unsuccessful and she left in her usual way – not even thanking me for the effort – nice, huh?

Tonights Gig was a 60th Birthday at Riversdale Golf Club in Mt Waverley. It was a nightmare! I got forced to have a 3 course meal and made to sit, chat and drink alcohol all night! :-P Marion’s voice has always been awesome but since she’s been rehersing with her new band she’s gone up yet another level. It’s always great Giggling** with someone as talented as her.

Time Flies

Well there goes my one week off until Christmas. Boy did I enjoy my time at home this week. Gave me a chance to do all the laundry, vaccuuming, dishes … Hah! Who am I trying to kid? I played City of Heroes. and watched series 1 of “Tru Calling”. The rest of the time I slept, listened to my iPod or both!

On Tuesday, Mel and I went to the show. It was … well, the same. We could have videoed last years show and just watched it again – it would have been cheaper. I did really enjoy spending the time together with the “GLG”. Even though we live together, it still seems like we barely see each other and it was good to have a bit of quality time. We did come away with a few showbags full of junkfood and pointless novelties – as you do!

This weekend I have 2 gigs. One is a 60th Birthday Party (Guitar, Singing – M00NL(GHT) and the other is a favour for the Church my Dad goes to (Drums).

iTOO iPOD iDO

Apple iPodWell it was only a matter of time. I’ve just finished uploading the entire Radio series “The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy” on to my new 20gb iPOD. I had to see what all the fuss was about and I must say, I am impressed! Mmmmm … Gadgetey Goodness! This little thing is going to help me heaps with my upcoming music projects – not to mention, this brings me one step closer to being a fully fledged Apple user! :-D I haven’t thrown everything I have onto it yet, and I’ve only managed to fill about 4gb so far. These things are just too darn cool and I plan to accessorise the hell out of it (ie. The mandatory “iTrip”). Next step – Apple G4 powerbook!

Update:
Low and behold, there’s an Apple store right here in Berwick! I picked up a little slip case and an iTrip for the way home. Not before drooling all over one of the new G5 iMacs :-P

Joey

Kangaroo JoeyNo this not another posting about the newly erleased Friends spinoff. The last couple of days, I’ve been sharing my office with a bit of Australian native wildlife.

One of the library staff cares for needy animals and brought in a baby kanga. It sleeps most of the time but I have posted some Piccies in my Gallery. The poor thing is probably avoiding all the ooohs and aahhhs of the female teachers with their “Isn’t it cute” attacks.

100 days

Well it’s 100 days till Christmas (which means 300 days to my Birthday!) and we are already starting to see decorations go up in the shops. Does this give anyone else that warm fuzzy feeling of commercialism and impending brokeness? Already Mel and I are stressing about “where are we gonna go”, “what are we gonna buy” – I’m a bit sick of it already. Bah! Humbug!!

The staff here will be starting to get into the spirit very shortly! This has nothing to do with Christmas – end of term drinks have been announced in the staff common room tomorrow arvo.

Begining of the end

Week 9 is the last week of Term 3 before another of the many school breaks. These holidays I am actually taking a week off to vegetate around the house – and I am thoroughly looking forward to it! Unlike many other people I have spoken to, I dont like my holidays to involve any kind of planning, travelling or money spending. Rather, I like to sit at home and make use of everything I’ve already purchased that has already cost me a small fortune. (ie Recline in my Couch, Watch movies, play Xbox). Mel is planning our annual trip to the show on Tuesday the 21st (her only day off at her current job to date!)

In the second week of the school break I’ll be doing all the re-imaging and maintenance at Berwick. Should be fairly straight forward stuff. My break then, will be from the staff.

4 days to go … :-D

Boys on the town

Last Friday we had a rare get together of the Annable guys. Richard, Tim (my brothers) and I treated Dad to a Gold Class movie, as he has never been before. He was quite shocked to learn that not only can you purchase your cinema food at the bar, they will bring it in to you at a time you request.

We reclined in those comfy red chairs for a couple of hours being entertained by Tom Hanks’/Steven Speilberg’s latest production – The Terminal. I found this film to be very entertaining both with it’s humor and it’s original story. Tom Hanks once again showed off his acting abilities along side a great supporting cast. I dont want to give away any story line plots so you can enjoy it for yourselves. For those who have seen it remember “You need an appointment!”

Over all a great night with all agreeing we should do it again! Maybe in another 12 or so years ;-)

SETI – Phone Home

SETI@HomeOnce again I find myself taking part in one of James’ crazy passtimes. Yesterday he showed me the interesting project called SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence). Me being the last to know everything, I’m sure quite a lot of you know what that is. For those who don’t, basically I have set up my P3 800 “Media Box” at home so that it will accept jobs from these people, to add to their ‘pool of participating PCs’ (say that 10 times!). They retrieve bucket loads of info from their satellite / telescope thingy (sorry for the tech talk) and need as much Processing power they can get from anyone in the world who will offer it.

I’ll let you know if I find anything! So far all it seems to be getting is a whole heap of lines and dots and a crappy Win98 style starfield. Oh well, the computer was switched on, doing nothing most of the day anyway – at least it can now feel useful!
