Because I was busy most of the weekend, I decided to take Mel out tonight for dinner and a movie. We saw the latest world destroying epic “The Day After Tomorrow”. It’s your usual tale: Boy meets girl, girl almost freezes to death due to violent change in climate. The heating in Cranbourne Cinemas sucked so the movie for us was quite interactive. Maybe they decided to add to the multitude of computer effects on screen by making us freeze our bums off in the real world. In the end it was a good watch – recommended! Just remember though, movies about cold temperatures rarely contain scenes with nudity. Bummer.

It’s been a big weekend for me. Usually my plans consist of me watching a lot of TV and getting just that little bit fatter
. This weekend, after about a month and a half of no gigging, Marion and I had to blow the dust off our instruments (for want of a better phrase) for two consecutive nights of music. It was hard work but at the same time, great to be playing again. Music is like an addiction (other musos will know what I’m talking about). My computer tech physique isn’t cut out for all this nightlife though. Not to mention, I might lose my standing as a geek in this town! Both shows were a great success and a bit of weekend work always helps with the purse strings.
For now it looks like that is our last gig as “Chris and Marion – MOONL(GHT!” for a while. A shame, we work very well together and Marion is too damn impossible to replace.
I made a couple of changes to my blog’s style sheet. Did anyone notice? Let us know what you think!
5 people, including myself and Marion – that’s who we played to tonight at the Kingsville RSL in Spotswood. After the wrinklies went to bed at around 9pm, we kicked on till around 11:30 taking requests from the few remaining. Oh well, it paid OK and I have Andrews Girlfriend’s 21st to look forward to tomorrow night. Marion’s new Shure wireless mike (courtesy of Ebay) was fun to play with! It’s range and sound quality is second to none. Even after not playing for a month and a half, MOONL(GHT still sounded as good as ever and everyone was very happy with the show in the end. Mel and I had our last download night for this year last night. As I have meantioned before, all our favourite series have come to an end and last night was the final hour in the 3rd series of 24. They’ve really left it in an interesting way. I don’t want to spoil it for people who may be watching the series but it looks like there will be a lot of new people in the cast for series 4. Of course Jack Bauer will be back but what rank will he be? And who will he be working with?? I love that show.
I now have all of series 3 in Xvid format (DVD Quality). If anyone wants a copy, just let me know – it will fit onto around 2 DVD-Rs.
According to my work emails (which I have deleted none of) today marks one year at my job. Well, one year since Dean sent my my first email entitled “your first email! ” – appropriate. Where does the time go. How have i made it this far?? And why is it the computers still don’t work??? Oh well, back to the grind.
