Blog Updates

To avoid filling my database with unnecessary posts, and spamming everyone’s feeds I have switch off the Twitter to post updates. It was just an experiment anyway. Don’t forget to update your feed links to one of the following:

I will be disabling the redirect from my old blog address soon.

Up-Rooted

Well if you are reading this you have tracked down my blog at this, its spunky new location. I have been intending to move my blog here for some time and I won’t lie, my recent wrestle with malware flagging was a strong motivator.

For those who have just tuned in, malware was detected redirecting people to a different website from my website. So Google’s flagging service (though current browsers) stopped this by redirecting people to a different website from my website. Hmmm … and I didn’t even have to ask!

For the record, I successfully cleaned my site days ago. Currently my old domain is EMPTY and still being flagged. Fail. But hey Google, your maps are cool and I use stacks of your other free services so I forgive you.

Anyway, back to blogging!
I’ve been pretty busy with music this year and it is gearing up to be a jam packed last few months of the year. I am performing gigs with the following groups:
RED ALERT: Check out the new website: http://redalertband.com.au
Bac2Bac Duo: Acoustic Duo with Bryn Bowen: http://bac2bac.net

Stay tuned, more to come …

Back to Blogging

Well, life post-365 is a bit more peaceful. I now have the luxury of posting to my website in an “every so often” kind of way. I will, however, try not to let it go too long between posts (famous last words).

Here’s my life at the moment:
I now have a new NEW job. I have been on so many learning curves this year that I think I’m just used to the angle. I am no longer in the field of I.T. which is a pleasant change for me. I have also moved out of schools which, career wise, is the right move (my resume was starting to get a bit repetitive). I have shifted into the field of “Communications” and due to the nature of the role, I’m choosing to keep fairly quiet online. I apologise to everyone for not responding to questions (on Facebook etc.). I will fill you in on details when I next chat to you in person.

I’m now gigging again. The band I’m in: RED ALERT is getting quite a lot of work now – especially heading into Christmas. I had one of the best gigs of my life a couple of weeks back in the Forum Theatre in Melbourne. The stage was so huge, my leads weren’t long enough! It’s a great balance for me being all corporate by day and rocking out at night.

How’s parenthood you ask? Mel and I are loving it. We just love it. We could not have asked for a more beautiful daughter. She has such a cheeky character and is charming everyone she meets. She has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger.

I look forward to catching up with everyone ASAP!

2.6 Upgrade

I upgraded my blog today, simplifying things a great deal. I’ve added support for Flickr comments and removed the much hated comment authentication checker (for now). A lot of the “hacks” I used to code are now included in the settings of this version but I still had to do some tweaking – especially with the K2 theme.

The main purpose was to enable blogging from my iPhone. If you are reading this then YAY! It works!

UPDATE!
For those of you lucky enough to have actually passed the “raincheck” stage and own an iPhone, my blog is now setup to theme appropriately on the phone’s safari browser.

We will let you know!

Thanks to everyone who has been asking after my wife during her pregnancy, your thoughts are really appreciated. Can I please ask everyone to be patient. Our little baby Girl is now 2 days overdue, but will arrive when she feels the time is right. We wouldn’t want her to be born a moment sooner to ensure her health and happiness.

Believe me, when I’m a Dad, I will be doing everything short of shouting it from the rooftops! There will be phone calls, SMSs and I will post the news on my blog, my Flickr account and Facebook. If you are wanting to call for a chat please do – any time! But if all you want to know is whether the baby has been born, assume that no news means “not yet”.

I am only writing this because lately, my wife feels like she is letting everyone down – and that is just not fair. If you REALLY want to know, please send your messages to me and I will be happy to give you an update. Otherwise, we’ll leave it to nature.

Thanks!

Comment Away!

Due to a few suggestions (and a lack of comments) I have made my blog open to the people! Feel free to leave your comments without the hassle of logging in. Your accounts are still active should you wish to use them still. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Writers Strike

YTruly.Net is today going on a writers strike, similar to the one in the US. So for then next while, I absolutely will not …

Refresh!

My wordpress blog has been running on a majorly hacked up version of the K2 Theme for a while now, so I finally decided to make a cleaner version. It is similar to the old one but is a lot more stable and customisable now. this process has also enabled me to update wordpress and K2 to their latest versions.

I have added a “polls” feature for everyone to play with. We have one of these at work and find it a lot of fun, so I thought I’d try it with my blog readers.

I think I’ve squashed all the bugs, if you find something wrong let me know. Users still have to log in to post comments, I am hoping to change this once I find a secure enough system.

For now … enjoy!

ITunes Music Store

My CD has appeared on iTunes Music Store and is available for purchase!

I think a few people will be getting ITunes vouchers for Christmas this year ;-)
Go to itunes.chrisannable.com to see it!

Facelift

chrisannable.comMy domain chrisannable.com hasn’t been used very much over the past couple of years, so I decided to give it a facelift. With the release of my New CD, I felt themed promotion would look a lot more professional.

The site is still very much under construction. It works better in Mozilla than Internet Explorer, but that’s mainly because Internet Explorer sucks. It is not yet database driven but the framework is very dynamic so it shouldn’t be too hard to upgrade. The code isn’t as ‘clean’ as Wendy would like, I haven’t indented it to James’ standards and I have been known to use breaks instead of proper margins and padding – but hey! It works and I like it ;-) .

Basically chrisannable.com is now an all-in-one site demonstrating everything I’m involved with, as I originally intended it to be.

Check it out!
